Drawn Together by Lauren Dane

drawn-together-220x330

Drawn Together is Raven’s story. Oh…Raven…I misjudged you.  I am a huge Brown Family fan and I love all the books in the series. As I read each book Raven was there sometimes in the background, other times right in the middle of things. And…to be honest I never really liked her. Even though I was not really a fan of Raven’s I still wanted to read her story.  With that said…I will admit that I was so wrong about Raven and am so glad she has gotten her time in the spotlight.

Raven is a very big personality. She is a beautiful woman with some pretty deep scars. Raven is also guarded, opinionated, brutally honest and sometimes a bitch (. These qualities don’t make for an easy person to get to know (or like). Raven has always kept everyone at arm’s length (except Erin and the Brown family). The majority of her time is spent traveling not really staying in one place for very long. Things have changed recently and Raven has begun to put down roots while staying in Seattle longer. Meeting Jonah changes things even more for Raven. He wants more from her than any man (or women) has ever asked. He makes demands on her. Like her No-monogamy rule, he wants her to agree to be with just him.

Mmmm, Jonah Warner is delicious. He is quite the package. Successful attorney, hot body with some rockin tattoos!  To quote Raven’s description of him; “He was on fire sexy. Like Panties on Fire”. From the moment he meets Raven he is drawn to her beauty and attitude. While he initially wants a tattoo from her he soon comes to realize that he wants a whole lot more. And what Jonah wants from Raven won’t be easy to get. As Raven and Jonah continue to explore their relationship Raven’s past comes back in a big way.

Drawn Together sucked me in front the first few paragraphs. Rarely does a book grab my attention so quickly AND doesn’t let go throughout the entire story. Raven and Jonah have some seriously hot chemistry. From the moment she kneels at his feet…damn..I was hooked!!

One of the best things about Jonah (besides his hotness) is that he loves Raven for who she is, snarkiness and all! He doesn’t want to change her. Jonah also fits Raven very well because he pushes back when she digs her heals (like her no-monogamy rule). Raven has never been with a man that wanted more than some good sex. Jonah wants it all.

I really loved that I was able to see a completely different side of Raven that the one in previous stories.  Because she has begun to put down roots in Seattle she has been able to develop friendships with other people. While she has been closest to Erin, you can see now that she is truly part of the Brown Family (and their extended friends).  And she’s great with kids, who knew! Raven truly shines in Drawn Together. She finally can put her past behind her and grab a future with Jonah.

“You fill parts of me I never thought would stop hurting. I love you, Jonah”

There is so much more to this story than what I have stated and while I could go on I think the best thing to do is pick up the book and read it. I have read almost all of Lauren Dane’s books and I am never disappointed. Drawn Together is another smash hit! I truly think it’s one of her best books yet!!! It’s a must read!

Beauty is more than skin-deep…

Waiting for Wednesday by Mari Carr

Waiting for Wednesday (Wild Irish Book 3) by Mari Carr

My Review:

It’s Wednesday and Tristan Collins works at his family’s Pub, like he does every Wednesday. He has been in a foul mood for a while because Wednesday evenings were the one time a week when is good friend Lane would come and visit with him.  Lane left town without a word about a year ago and Tristan is finally ready to believe that she won’t be coming back. Tristan is looking forward to closing the bar any minute and he becomes annoyed when the door opens and he has to serve another customer. He looks over and sees Lane sitting in the same seat she had.

Lane has decided to return to Baltimore, she has missed the seasons, her sports teams and most of all she missed Tristan Collins. Its Wednesday night, so Lane has come to see Tristan at the bar and have her usual glass of wine with him as he tends bar. She catches Tristan by surprise as he hasn’t been expecting her. She can tell that he is hurt by the way she left town.

Lane is not looking for another relationship but Tristan but finds herself immersed in the Collins clan as she begins to take care of their father. Tristan is thrilled to have Lane in his place and slowly begins the process of breaking down the wall Lane has built around herself. While Tristan and Lane navigate their relationship they have to overcome Lane’s past that is not yet ready to let her go.

I absolutely loved this book. I really think it was well written and the characters were great. I really enjoyed the dynamics between Tristan and Lane. Tristan is a wonderful character who wants to show Lane that she can be independent while in a relationship. When I read about Lane’s history I was so glad that she found her way into the Collins’s clan!  The sex between them is smoking hot!

The book continues to show the Collins Clan and it makes me wish I was part of it and hang out at the pub. Can’t wait for the next book!

Brody by Emma Lang

Brody (Circle Eight Book #2) By Emma Lang

My Review:

Wow, where do I start. Honestly one of the most enjoyable books in a long time. I picked it up and had a hard time putting it down (thank goodness I travel a lot for work and can read!).

Brody is on the hunt for Benji the missing Graham brother. As he sets out on the trail he is shocked to find out that Olivia Graham followed him and is planning on joining him on his search. He does not want her and hopes to convince her that this is not a place she wants to be. Olivia does not back down and proves time and time again that Brody needs her as a partner.  I was hooked on Olivia  from the beginning.

I will say that I did not like Olivia when she was introduced in the first book, she was a bitch, let’s be honest. But I will admit now that I really like her. Wow, is she a great character. It was great to see the transformation of Olivia from the first book to this one.  And Brody, where do I start. The rugged, moody Texas Ranger, he just sounds hot! You knew he was not happy being stuck with Olivia as he searched for her missing brother Benji.  The chemistry between them is hot and you can feel that they are into each other.  I really enjoyed the steam scenes between them and even their bickering back and forth.

Brody is really, really well done. I got hooked in the story within the first chapter and I was glued to the pages.  All the additional characters came together to create a really believable story and at the same time making me emotionally interested in the outcome. You really pull for Brody, Olivia and the Graham family.

Fated by Lauren Dane

(Cascadia Wolves Book #6) By Lauren Dane

My Review:

Megan Warden is heading down to a wedding with the rest of the Warden females. She is now the Enforcer for the Cascadia Pack since Lex was made its Alpha, when Cade became the Supreme Alpha (so much going on). Not wanting to hang around all the giggly females, Megan is at the airport to pick up Shane Rosario, her sister’s Tri-bond.  In the car both Megan and Shane realize that they are mates. As soon as they get back to the hotel they get together and become mated.

I have mixed feelings about this book. I really did not like Shane’s character. I felt he was not a good fit for Megan.  Megan is the Enforcer for her pack, she is a strong women and she should have been mated to someone better, well I shouldn’t say better but someone that is secure in who he is and is a strong person as well. In my opinion, Shane is a jerk for most of the book, all he wants is sex from her and she even says that to him. The remainder of the story is back and forth with Megan and Shane and their relationship drama. Ugh, couldn’t deal with it after a while. For me the only positive thing about the book was all the old characters I got to read about again.

Synopsis from Book/Publisher:

Just because Fate brings you your perfect mate doesn’t mean it’ll be easy. A Cascadia Wolves story.

Could there be any worse fate than a road trip from Seattle to L.A.—with one’s mother—to attend a wedding? Why yes, when one isn’t married yet, like Megan Warden. Toss in a grandmother and a carload of already married sisters and it’s a recipe for sneaking sips of “special” coffee while someone else drives. Sane Rosario has better things to do than attend a wedding where his father’s relatives will be at him nonstop about getting married and having children. If it weren’t for seeing his anchor bond, Layla, he’d have taken a pass on the entire weekend. It would be easy, since he’s become adept at hiding who and what he is. Wen the two weren’t even looking, Fate steps in and before they know it, their bond is sealed. Bonded pair, married in the eyes of their people. Two people tied together in every way. Trouble is, Shane’s not sure he wants all that comes with Megan. And Megan’s certain she’s not willing to live outside her pack, pretending to be human. The distance between them is more than geographical. It’s a widening gulf rapidly filling with resentment…an emotional divide only acceptance could bridge. Can Shane can accept himself to cross it? Only if they let love take control.

Standoff by Lauren Dane

Standoff  (Cascadia Wolves Book #5) By Lauren Dane

My Review:

Woo Woo, Cade finally gets his story! I have loved Cade Warden from the beginning and I am so happy to read his story. Cade is definitely a drool worthy character, he is the Alpha of Cascadia Pack and tired of sitting at home when other people are in the field. Cade decides to go to Chicago to work on stopping Pellini and the war.

Grace Pellini is Warren’s sister and comes to the wolves with some information to help stop Pellini and his group. She is a doctor and has been working in the lab, so she has access to some important information.  When she meets Cade at this meeting, they both realize that they are mates.  After living away from wolves for so long Grace is overwhelmed that she has a wolf mate and is part of a family.

This book pretty much wraps up the war that has been going on for the last several books. It was a great ending to the story. Quite the twist at the end of with Cade’s new position but it feels right.

Wolf Unbound By Lauren Dane

Wolf Unbound (Cascadia Wolves Book #4) By Lauren Dane

My Review:

Tegan Warden is finally ready to date again. After several years of working constantly as a member of the Cascadia pack’s guards she is ready to take some time for herself. Tegan decides to go to a local club and she meets Ben Stoner there.  As soon as they get together both realize that there is some heavy chemistry between them. As they get to know one another Ben realizes that Tegan is a wolf and sister to Lex and Cade. Ben is the human representative and has been working with them for a while.

Ben was introduced in earlier books and I was really excited that he would be given his own book. I really felt for Tegan, I couldn’t imagine loosing someone and then trying to move forward. The relationship between Tegan and Ben felt real. Once they mated you could tell Ben was freaked out and didn’t really know how to handle things.

Throughout the story Tegan and Ben work with the other characters to fight the continued threat from the Pellini Group and try to figure out their relationship. Well Tegan knows what she is doing; it is more Ben that has to figure out what to now that he is mated (married) to Tegan. I enjoyed how Tegan was submissive but at the same time she was a guard that kicked ass if needed. Tegan and Ben fit well together. I really think that this book is one of the best in the series.  It was also great to see some familiar characters as well. Can’t get enough of them! I can only imagine how the story will continue!

Synopsis from Book/Publisher:

Overshadowed by the rising threat of the werewolf mafia, Ben and Tegan struggle to stand united. Werewolf Enforcer Tegan Warden has been alone since the death of her mate four years ago. Until she meets Ben Stoner at a local club and she feels something she thought died inside her. Things move very quickly and she finds herself mated to a human man who’s not altogether sure he wants a forever kind of love with a woman he’s just met. Ben realizes in short order Tegan is not only worth forever love, but a woman who’ll stand at his side without tolerating anything other than a full partnership. In the bedroom it’s another story, as Ben has finally found a sexual submissive with a spark, and Tegan a man worthy of her submission. Together they work toward building a permanent relationship even as the specter of danger from the Pellini Group grows in the world of wolves. All around them, the rising violence threatens the Packs and the only thing they know for certain is one another.

Tri-Mates By Lauren Dane

Tri-mates (Cascadia Wolves Book #2) By Lauren Dane

My Review:

I really enjoyed this book. This is the second book in the Cascadia Wolves series by Lauren Dane. Tracy Warden was introduced in the first book and she now gets her own!

Tracy Warden heads down to the Pacific Pack for a meeting about border issues between the two packs. Things are so bad that the National Mediator Gabe Murphy is coming down to help with  the Cascadia and Pacific Packs. Upon arriving Tracy and the rest of the Cascadia group beginning working on the border issues with Pacific. Shortly into the meeting Tracy is introduced to Nick Lawrence the Enforcer and 2nd of Pacific. Both Nick and Tracy are distracted for the rest of the meeting as they begin to wonder if they are mates. During a break in the meeting Tracy and Nick realize they are mates and seal the bond.

Tracy is reminded that the tri-bond is needed and Gabe Murphy the National Pack’s Mediator is more than happy to serve as her anchor. The next day Gabe comes over and performs the tri-bond.   At Tracy’s swearing in ceremony at Pacific her grandmother tells her that it’s not a Tri-bond but a Tri-mate, that’s why she has such strong feelings for Nick and Gabe.  The remainder of the story is the Tracy, Gabe and Nick working out their complex relationship while continuing to fight the Werewolf Mafia.

I loved Tracy’s character! I really think that she is a strong character and secure in herself, her looks and her sexuality. Nick makes me think of a hot guy who looks mouth-watering in an expensive suit and all you want to do is get him out of it. There were times when he did get on my nerves and I wanted to smack him, but Tracy put him in his place quickly. Gabe Murphy’s character is great. Who wouldn’t love to get it on with Professor studly? The chemistry between the three of them is awesome. The one thing I didn’t like was how both Nick and Gabe kept saying to Tracy that “you are not my usual type but I still like you”. It got on my nerves. On a side note, I totally dig Tracy’s dog. The book is faced paced and keeps you wondering what is going to happen next. The author has introduced us to some great characters who will hopefully get their own stories soon.

Tri-Mates is one of my favorite in the Cascadia Wolves series, definitely worth checking out. Can’t wait for the next book!
