Fighting Love is the story of Tommy “Lightning” Sparks who was on top of the world and now has to pick up the pieces when his world imploded.

Tommy has lost everything…and I mean everything. Through a series of unfortunate events he comes to stay with his best friend Julie Rogers until he can get back on his feet. Though he’s been friends with Julie for years, he hasn’t spent so much time with her in one location for quite a while. He soon starts to see her in a new light…as an attractive women. Confused by his thoughts he tries to ignore his feelings but once Julie starts going out on a few dates with a fellow fighter Tommy can’t ignore his feelings anymore. He realizes that Julia is worth getting to know on a whole new level.

I enjoyed Fighting Love and really liked Julie. I must admit that part of me wanted her to forget about Tommy and go for a relationship with Brody I just felt that she wasted to many years on Tommy and deserved to be with someone that really liked her. Tommy I can take him or leave him. He is an all-around nice guy, attractive BUT a total player who has missed out on being with Julie because he was blinded by the junk in front of him. Several times he pushed her away because he couldn’t make up his mind and it drove me a little nuts. When they finally did get together it was like FINALLY! Tommy does really care for her and it was great to see them together at the end.

“You’re my best friend, my past, my present, and my future. I love you, Tommy ‘Lightning’ Sparks.”

From The Author:

Talk about kicking a fighter while he’s down.

Former Middleweight champion and confirmed bachelor Tommy “Lightning” Sparks has lost it all: his belt, his career, and now his home. After the devastating fire, he moves in with his drama-free best friend, Julie. One encounter changes everything and Julie is no longer the girl he’s spent his life protecting but a desirable woman he wants to take to his bed. Knowing his reputation, he’s determined to protect Julie more than ever—from himself. Veterinarian Julie Rogers has been in love with Tommy since she was ten, but would love to get overthe man. She’s quiet nights at home and a glass of wine. He’s clubbing all night and shots of tequila. As friends they work great. As a couple? No way in hell. She just can’t get her heart to agree. When she starts spending time with another fighter, the man who’s always treated her like a sister is suddenly not being very brotherly and enflames her body like never before. Can two childhood friends make a relationship work, or will they lose everything because they stopped FIGHTING LOVE.

The Invitation by Erika Wilde gives us another glimpse into the lives of Dean and Jillian. I have come to really enjoy each book in this series and have been patiently (not really) waiting for The Invitation which is the prelude to the Players Club.

As Dean and Jillian’s twentyith wedding anniversary approaches, Dean believes he has found the perfect present for Jillian. He is goes to his best friend and partner Mac and ask for an Invitation to the players club. A local private club that Mac has been a member of for several years (as well as some other members of his team). The night of their wedding anniversary Dean gives Jillian the invitation. He leaves the decision to accept or decline up to her. With Jillian’s new found interest in spicing thins up she accepts. Dean and Jillian are off to the Player’s Club!

“It’s our twentieth anniversary, baby. I’m not done with you yet, especially after that nice comment of yours. Before the night is through, I want you to see fucking fireworks.”

The Invitation is a truly fabulous story. While the title centers around their invite to the club the story contains so much more that the players club. There are snippets of Dean and Jillian’s early dating and marriage. What I found to be the most interesting was the continual blossoming of Jillian. Now that her children are grown she is feeling the “empty nest” and soon as the opportunity to work outside the home. Dean being Dean does not want Jillian to work.  How will Jillian’s job affect Dean and their marriage.

Dean is the ultimate alpha male and this story shows it more than the others. Their time at the Player’s Club is so HOT! He pushes Jillian to experience things she might not have done if they weren’t at the club. Though he is in control at work and at the club he is starting to feel a little out of it when Jillian tells him that she was offered a job. Because of his past he is adamant that she doesn’t work. Later on Dean realizes that he is being completely harsh in his refusal to allow Jillian to work but he has always prided himself on taking care of his family. Dean has to confront some of his demons in and was really great to see that such an alpha male can be vulnerable. It shows that everyone has insecurities he just better at hiding it than others.

“Do you want me?” “I want my wife.”

Again I absolutely loved this story. I could read a new story of Dean and Jillian all the time. They are like a fine wine they get better with age!

“So you think I can be mollified with hot sex?” “You’re a man, aren’t you?”

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this story (well more like one chapter of a story) but I was pleasantly surprised. I was immediately intrigued by Cheyenne and Luke. Cheyenne being the daughter of a wealthy rancher is hoping for a romantic weekend with her sort-of boyfriend Colin. She gets her romantic weekend just not with the person she thought! She gets hot and heavy with ranch hand Luke. Luke is new on the ranch and has been attracted to Cheyenne for quite a while. He believes he is not good enough for her so he leaves her alone. But being stuck at a cabin alone with Cheyenne was not part of his plans. After their passionate night Luke pushes her away. But what happens next is anyone guess…as the next installment isn’t available yet!

For a short read it was pretty good. I am really interested to see how Luke and Cheyenne’s story turns out.

OMG! I think I repeated this phrase several times will reading this book. This was my first time reading one of Bronwen’s books and I have now added all her books to my TBR pile! Kiss of Lies is a book that has everything you could want in a story…a tragic hero, a strong heroine and a story that just doesn’t stop.

Sarah Cooper (know to the ton as Lady Serena Castleton)  is fleeing England and a truly horrible marriage. She hopes to hide away as a governess for the Earl of Markham. Christian, the Earl of Markham is in Canada after being forced out of England for a scandal that he was wrongly accused of. Hoping to restore his name he decides to head back to England. While in Canada he has been given guardianship of his friends young daughter and so the need for a governess arose. As Sarah and Christian journey to England they start to realize that they have feelings for one another. But upon arriving in England their journey towards a happily ever after is not an easy one. Now that they are together they have to navigate their past as someone is out to hurt them.

Christian is truly a tortured soul. He was severely injured in the war and has to live with the damage to his body. For a long time I felt he was just existing and it was until he met Sarah that he started to come out of his shell. He starts to live again. I felt so bad for him as he not only had to endure hardship from the war but also the scandal that sent him from home. Both of these events were cause by people out to do him harm. Sara is like Christian in many ways, wounded and alone. But I found her to be a strong woman as not many at that time would have left England and all she knew. She wants more out of her life and hopes to achieve it as a governess. Together Christian and Sara are just delightful. They both are attracted to each other and slowly begin to trust one another as they both have been so hurt in the past. But once they do get together it was beautiful! I got so happy when they did!

Kiss of Lies is a wonderful story by a truly talented author. The story is well written with characters that you can’t help cheer for. Kiss of Lies is the start of a new series and I can’t wait for the next one. I am now a total Bronwen Fan Girl!

From the Author:

In Bronwen Evans’s Loveswept debut, a pair of damaged souls ignite each other’s deepest passions—even as they tempt fate by deceiving the world.
Desperate to escape her abusive past, Sarah Cooper disguises herself as a governess in the employ of Christian Trent, Earl of Markham, the man who, long ago, she fantasized about marrying. Despite the battle scars that mar his face, Sarah finds being near Christian rekindles her infatuation. A governess, however, has no business in the arms of an earl, and as she accompanies Christian on his voyage home, Sarah must resist her intense desires—or risk revealing her dangerous secrets. One of the renowned Libertine Scholars, Christian Trent once enjoyed the company of any woman he chose. But that was before the horrors of Waterloo, his wrongful conviction of a hideous crime, and his forcible removal from England. Far from home and the resources he once had, Christian believes the life he knew—and any chance of happiness—is over . . . until his ward’s governess sparks his heart back to life, and makes him remember the man he used to be. Now Christian is determined to return to England, regain his honor, and win the heart of the woman he has come to love.
