Reaper’s Legacy pulls out all the stops and delivers a book that is a wild ride from start to finish.

Sophie and Ruger have been dancing around their intense attraction to each other for eight long years. Things come to head for them when Noah, Sophie’s son is in trouble and Ruger rides into help him.

Ruger (sigh), he is your typical Reaper…tall, tattooed, pierced with those smoldering good looks and a real indifference to women. He likes the way his life is…unencumbered by any female. Sophie is the only women that has remained constant in his life and that is because of Noah, his nephew. He has always tried to keep his distance from Sophie but when Noah needs his help; he does what needs to be done to keep the boy safe, even if that means moving him and Sophie into his house. Ruger soon realizes that in having Sophie so close it is much harder to ignore the attraction to her than when she was hundreds of miles away. He finally decides to claim her as his property. He intends to show her that the Reapers and him are what she needs.

Sophie has been attracted to Ruger for quite a long time. Their lives have intertwined since the day Noah was born and she has had to rely on Ruger to help her several times over the years. She is a very independent woman who doesn’t want anyone’s help. But Sophie finally realizes that she is in over her head and accepts Rugers help. While she agrees to his help she wants nothing to do with him or the Reapers MC. She refuses to be another conquest for him. Sophie begins to get drawn into to the Reapers as she develops friendships with the other old ladies and Ruggers insistence that she not be with anyone else. Soon Sophie has to make a choice – is her love for Ruger strong enough to survive with the Reapers. Because him and the Reapers are a package deal.

“….You’re in my dreams every night. I wake up in the morning and all I think about is you in my house, you and Noah finally mine. My family. It’s even better than ridin’ my bike. I’m crazy for you, Soph.”

One of the fieriest books I’ve read! When I was first introduced to the Reapers MC I couldn’t imagine things would get any crazier or I would love them even more. Well I was wrong. Reapers Legacy goes deeper into the dynamics of the MC club while holding nothing back.  All the characters from the first story (Horse/Marie) are back in Reapers Legacy. The story also provides several OMG moments that I couldn’t believe happened. The story is well written and a real delight to read. I highly recommend this story. I cannot wait for the next book in the series.

Reaper’s Legacy proves that to love someone…you have to take the good and bad. And that some are truly worth fighting for.

From the author:

Eight years ago, Sophie gave her heart—and her virginity—to Zach Barrett on a night that couldn’t have been less romantic or more embarrassing. Zach’s step-brother, a steely-muscled, tattooed biker named Ruger, caught them in the act, getting a peep show of Sophie he’s never forgotten.

She may have lost her dignity that fateful night, but Sophie also gained something precious—her son Noah. Unfortunately, Zach’s a deadbeat dad, leaving Ruger to be Noah’s only male role model. When he discovers Sophie and his nephew living in near poverty, Ruger takes matters into his own hands—with the help of the Reapers Motorcycle Club—to give them a better life.

Living with outlaw bikers wasn’t Sophie’s plan for her son, but Ruger isn’t giving her a choice. He’ll be there for Noah, whether she wants him or not. But Sophie does want him, has always wanted him. Now she’ll learn that taking a biker to bed can get a girl dirty in every way…

ARC Review of Rebel by Skye Jordan

Rebel, the second story of the Renegades (the super-hot and sexy stunt men led by Jax Chamberlin) is as Hot and delicious as you can imagine. Rebel brings together Wes Lawson and Rubi Russo, two close friends with the potential for much more. But one is afraid to take the next step, while the other is raring to go.

Rubi has been working with the Renegades to develop computer applications for their stunts. Over the last few months she has gotten closer to the team, especially Wes. They have developed a really great friendship, really becoming best friends. Because of her horrible relationship with her father she does have relationships with guys. She prefers to have one night with them. Wes is the one guy that she is really tempted to break her no dating rule. Rubi knows things will be different with Wes and she is scared of losing his friendship.

Wes is one of the stunt men for the renegades and really Jax’s right hand man. He has been crushing on Rubi since he spied her dropping Lexi at the airport months ago. He knows that their chemistry will be explosive and wants a relationship with her. Aware of her reluctance to have a relationship with him, he agrees to her demands though he hopes to get her to change her mind.

“I’m sorry, baby. It’s just who I am. I love everything you hide and everything you don’t. I just…love you.”

Wes and Rubi as a couple balance each other out, they play to each others strengths and weakness. In addition to that they are scorching HOT in and out of bed!  Rubi is a multidimensional character. She is a successful model turned computer program. And while Rubi is a genuinely nice person that is fiercely loyal to her friends she doesn’t show many people her soft underside. Except Wes…who sees so much in Rubi.  Like Rubi, Wes has many layers as well…stunt man, engineer, country boy and a loyal family man. All this comes together in a really sexy package.

I absolutely LOVED Rebel. There are so many great moments in the story I could just keep writing about it. It is definitely  a must read for anyone that wants a really heartwarming story. Jax and Lexi are in the story as well and it was great to see how their relationship is progressing. Plus the addition of the other memebrs from the Renegades make for some very funny parts. I can’t wait for the next chapter in the Renegades story.

What happens when a widowed lady and a duke finally submit to their desires…a delightful short story from Sabrina Darby.

Lord Sutbridge has been friends with Caroline for the past 10 years and has been in love with her for just as long. She is the reason that he has yet to marry. Now that she is widowed he is determined to have her as his wife, but the lady has other plans. Lady Caroline is enjoying her freedom as a widow and has no plans to marry again. Caroline is interested in Sutbridge…just not for marriage. After enduring a horrible marriage, she is ready to find passion and love in the arms of  man. She has her hopes set on Sutbridge but he is asking for more than she is ready to give.

I was initially interested in Caroline and The Duke because of its cover. It is one of the prettiest covers I have seen for a historical romance. The story is very well written with two great characters. There is just the right amount of tension between Caroline and Sutbridge. Sutbridge has been in love with Caroline for years and has been very angry that she married someone else and had children with him. Now that she is widowed he wants to marry her and have the life that should have been there’s years ago. I applauded Sutbridge for continuing to push Caroline, because they did belong together. I honestly felt horrible that they wasted 10 years of their life because she married someone else.

While I knew it was a short story…I still felt that it wasn’t enough. Caroline and John’s story really should have been a full length novel. I think the storyline is great and I felt disappointed when it was finished. I would have liked to know more of the reasons why she married so young, glimpses of their meetings in the past, etc. Aside from that Caroline and The Duke is a very enjoyable story. I hope to read more from this author in the future.

ARC Review of A Wicked Pursuit by Isabella Bradford

Harry Fitzroy, as the future Duke of Breconridge knows it’s finally time to find a wife. He decides on this season’s smash – Lady Julia Barclay. She is everything he wants in a wife; beautiful and vivacious. When he arrives at her father’s house to propose he is met with her viewing his arrival insignificance and flits from one gentleman to another. Not used to being led around Harry finally gets her to agree to go riding one morning. As they ride around the estate, things take a turn for the worst as Harry is injured. Hoping to be nursed back to health by Lady Julia he is surprised to find that it is her sister Lady Augusta who has been with him since his injury. Harry soon finds himself in a precarious position…having feelings for Lady Augusta.

Lady Augusta Barclay is quite content managing her father’s home. She is more reserved (complete opposite) than her sister and likes it that way. Her quite life is quickly turned upside down by the injury to Harry Fitzroy and his indefinite stay at her home. She sees it as her duty to take care of him as he is a guest of her fathers. What she doesn’t anticipate is her feelings for him. Harry and Gus spend more and more time tighter they soon develop friendship of sorts. When that friendship changes into something more both are taken by surprise.

Lady Augusta or Gus as she is called is the quintessential “wallflower” in my opinion. She has always been in the shadow of her vivacious sister.  She is surprised and dismayed when she starts to have feelings for Harry as she believes that he will marry her sister. As Gus spends more time with Harry and Julia spends more time in London, she starts to question her feelings. She soon comes to realize that she loves Harry and decides to be with him regardless of societies opinion. I applauded her for doing what she wanted to do and if that meant being with Harry so be it.

I hate to say but I was glad he fell and realized what a twit Julia is. He at first is captivated by her beauty but because of his injury he realizes that there is nothing beneath the surface. As he spends more time with Lady Augusta he realizes that she is a woman of intelligence and substance. Harry know sees that Lady Augusta is the woman for him. In some ways his injury was good for him as it made him appreciate his life.

A Wicked Pursuit is a sweet story about two people that find love in the most unexpected way. The story is well written with two wonderful characters that have a wonderful happily ever after.

From the Author:

In Isabella Bradford’s enthralling new trilogy, three noble brothers—London’s most scandalous rakes—are about to do the unthinkable: settle down. Harry Fitzroy, Earl of Hargreave, is the first to meet his match and lose his heart . . . to a lady who’s not all what he expected.

As the eldest son of the Duke of Breconridge, Harry Fitzroy is duty-bound to marry—and marry well. Giving up his rakish ways for the pleasures of a bride’s bed becomes a delightful prospect when Harry chooses beautiful Lady Julia Barclay, the catch of the season. But a fall from his horse puts a serious crimp in his plans. Abandoned by Julia before he can propose, the unlucky bachelor finds himself trapped in the country in the care of Julia’s younger sister.

Harry has never met a woman like Lady Augusta. Utterly without artifice, Gus is clever and capable, and seems to care not a fig for society. After a taboo kiss awakens passion that takes them both by surprise, Harry realizes he’d almost given his heart to the wrong sister. While London tongues wag, he’ll use his most seductive powers of persuasion to convince the reluctant Gus that she belongs with him—as his equal, his love, his wife.

ARC Review of The Tempation of Lady Serena by Ella Quinn

The Temptation of Lady Serena is now one of my favorite books and Ella Quinn is my new favorite author!

Lady Serena Weir is in London for her first season. She is much older than the average debutante as she has been spent the last few years managing her families estate in Scotland. Her brother has decided that it is time for her to select a husband so she is sent to London and the marriage mart. Shortly after arriving she is introduced to Robert Viscount Beaumont and is instantly captivated by his good looks and charm.

Robert spies Serena first in Yorkshire and then again in London. While he does not know who she is he is immediately attracted to her grace and beauty. He is quite surprised and delighted when he is introduced to her at his friend house.  Robert begins to pursue Serena with single minded determination. Things are not moving as quickly as he would like so Robert manipulates things to his advantage, or so he believes. What Robert doesn’t count on is how far Serena will go for love.

I was absolutely delighted with The Seduction of Serena! I found myself caught up in the Serena and Roberts’ story. It is just an enjoyable story to read. Serena and Robert are two people that genuinely care about one another.

Robert is your traditional autocratic rake. He wouldn’t know love it hit him on the head. He needs some gentle (and not so gentle)prodding from friends and family before he realizes what is staring him in the face. But Robert finally realizes that what he feels for Serena is love. And once he realizes it he knows that his life will not be complete without Serena by his side.  Serena is a wonderful character. She is strong and intelligent with a deep love for the people on her land. Serena knew pretty quickly that she loved Robert and wouldn’t marry him unless he admitted that he loved her.  I applauded Serena when she stayed true to her feelings even if that met refusing his suit. While she loves Robert she is not willing to marry him because society says she should.

Another aspect of the story that I really enjoyed was the time, Robert and Serena’s story stretched over time. Their story was not easy or quick but there journey was great to read as they went from acquaintances to lovers. It was beautiful.

The Temptation of Lady Serena is hands down one of the best historical romances I have read. It is a must read for anyone that wants a great love story.

Accidental Cowgirl by Maggie McGinnis

Whisper Creek Ranch is a working that ranch that has recently begun to take on guests. Decker Driscol and his family are the owners of the ranch. After the death of his father, the family comes to realize that the ranch is not as financially stable as they thought. Their mother decides to turn the ranch into a “Dude Ranch” and hope for many paying guests that would like a real ranch experience. Decker is the oldest sibling and has been living in LA for the past 10 years. He has come back at the request of his mother to help run the ranch. Decker left the ranch after a falling out with his father. He has no plans to stay at the ranch, he is just here to help his mother and brother weather the financial mess. Once Whisper Creek Ranch is financially stable he plans to go back to LA. What he doesn’t anticipate is meeting Kyla and he is coming to realize that his plans might need to change.

Kyla is at Whisper Creek Ranch with her two girlfriends. They feel that she needs a change of scenery and some relaxation. Kyla has had a rough couple of months; Car accident, cheating ex-fiancé that stole millions of dollars from people including her grandparents. Kyla is having a hard time relaxing at the ranch. She meets Decker and is taken with him right away.

Kyla is a quite a strong woman to have survived so much in such a little amount of time. Though it’s taken a while to recover from not only physical trauma but emotional as well she is still willing to move on with her life. You could tell that she really needed this vacation to recharge and take some time to decide how to move forward with her life. While Kyla’s issues are more recent Decker’s issues are almost a decade old. Decker and his father had a falling out and he left the ranch vowing to never come back. Now that his father is dead he returns home to help his mother. I really felt bad for Decker because what happened to him was not his fault, he had a crappy old man. I was so glad to finally see Decker move on from this and realize that his future is at the ranch.

I was surprised how much I enjoyed this story. Accidental Cowgirl is a really charming read. Decker and Kyla are two people that you couldn’t help root for. After everything that they both have suffered you only want them to succeed. The story is wonderfully written with really great characters. I hope to read more from this author in the future.

Review of All Fired Up by Kate Meader

All Fired Up is a really great story about Cara Deluca and Shane O’Doyle. This is the second book in the Hot in the Kitchen Series by Kate Meader.

After spending a few drunken hours in Vegas Cara and Shane decide to get married. When they return to Chicago things are not as sweet as they were in Vegas. Neither remembers much about that night…so there is definitely some awkwardness. There is also the fact they both work at the same restaurant though neither new this, and also now live across from each other in the same building.  Shane is the newly hired pastry chef and Cara is the events manager.  Things heat up between Cara and Shane as they navigate their relationship.

Cara is a hot mess…though that’s not what she shows to the world. Anyone that knows Cara sees her as perfectly put together. No one knows what lurks underneath. She has had some major struggles in the past and  I really felt for her at times. Shane is great for her as he helps her  loosen up as she really did need it.

Shane is one sexy Irish man. I love one with a good accent. He is a great balances to Cara’s character. He brings qualities out of her that no one else can see. I was glad that he stuck with it and pushed Cara. He didn’t give up on her or their relationship. Shane and Cara’s relationship was a struggle at times but I think that really lent itself to the story feeling really. Together Shane and Cara are great. There is a lot of chemistry there and it was wonderful to read about them.

From The Author:

Her sweetest mistake . . .

Cool as a Chicago winter, private events planner Cara DeLuca is a model of self-control . . . until she meets the one temptation she can’t resist: Shane Doyle. The sexy, Irish pastry chef is too hot, too sure, too young, and after a crazy night in Vegas-her new husband. While at first Cara wants nothing more than a way out of her sham marriage to Shane, she soon finds that beneath his farm boy demeanor lies a man who can match her drive, both in and out of the bedroom. How can the wrong guy feel so deliciously right?

. . . Tastes so, so good

Shane has carefully structured his career and life around one goal: connecting with the family that doesn’t know he exists. Marrying a woman with more issues than a magazine stand wasn’t part of the plan, but melting Cara’s icy exterior is so worth the detour. Now as the annulment date nears and long-buried secrets are revealed, Shane will have to fight for the one thing guaranteeing the perfect life he craves . . . the current Mrs. Shane Doyle.
