Enforcer (Cascadia Wolves Book #1) by Lauren Dane
This is the first book in the Cascadia Wolves series. Alexander (Lex) Warden is the Enforcer for the Cascadia pack in the Seattle area. He goes to visit Nina Reyes as she is the sister of one the wolves that he is investigating. He goes to her house to ask if she has seen her brother and he immediately dismisses her as someone that he would date.
Nina Reyes is happy with her florist shop and hides who she is from most people. She dresses conservatively and doesn’t date much. She is captivated with Lex immediately and a little overwhelmed by it. Throughout the story she fights her attraction to him and the fact that he wants her to open up to him. Nina is scared to do so because she always had to lean on herself. The rest of the Warden family is introduced as Lex and Nina try and solve the threat to the pack.
There were times in the story that I felt Nina was a little too much and kind of got on my nerves, I felt that she needed to dial it down a little. But I think in the end her personality matched well with Lex who is very uptight most of the time. Lex is a great character, I really liked him. Their chemistry together was very hot. I was glad that Nina finally found someone that she could come to rely on, though she did have to go through a lot of stuff at the pack house. The tri-bond element is interesting and I think it really works. I really enjoyed seeing Nina with Cade and Lex. This book has wet my appetite for more from the Cascadia Wolves.
Synopsis from Book/Publisher:
Nina Reyes is a just barely reformed grifter who has left her past and her criminal record behind. That is until her brother shows up on her doorstep with some rogue werewolves out to kill him. Nina gets further drawn into the web of intrigue when Lex Warden, Cascadia Pack’s Enforcer, comes to her for help and she ends up needing his protection. There are missing viral agents, the werewolf mafia, death threats, arson and a whole lot of scorching sex and acerbic wit between them.
